About Where We Source Our Products
We understand the importance of using safe and environmentally friendly ingredients, which is why all our Mica Powders are sourced from trusted manufacturers who share our commitment to ethical and safe products.
Our manufacturers have complied with all REACH requirements and possess documented evidence to support this. REACH is a European Union regulation aimed at safeguarding human health and the environment from chemical risks while bolstering the competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry. It also advocates for alternative methods for assessing substance hazards to reduce animal testing.
We take proactive measures to ensure that our mica is not sourced from mines employing child labour. Most of these mines are located in India, and we do not procure pigments from India. The good news is, over the years, the pigment industry in general has stepped away from buying products from these suspected mines. We support the "Made in the Free World" initiative and encourage others to join us in supporting ethical sourcing practices.
While manufacturing plants are distributed globally, many prominent industry players, such as EMD Chemicals (Merck), KOBO, SUN Chemical, among others, have facilities in China. Consequently, most of our pigments are manufactured in China.
About Our Animal Testing Policy
Our manufacturers have provided us with written statements that they do not carry out animal testing on the products. In fact, the ingredients in our pigments have been around for a VERY long time, and therefore they have been tested at some point in the past to assure their safety. For this reason, all our Mica Powder and Pigments are Vegan and Gluten Free.
About Our Packaging
When it comes to packaging, we believe in sustainability and practicality. our products are carefully packaged in industrial kraft paper bags, ensuring that they reach you in perfect condition. We offer a range of sizes to suit your needs, from convenient 5g sample packs to larger quantities of 25g, 100g, 250g, and 500g. For those who require even more, select products are also available in 1kg quantities.
We do not use pretty plastic jars for packaging our materials. We have been working very hard (and still do!) for sourcing high quality bags that are either bio-degradable or have less plastic for packaging our products, depending on their availability in the market. Although we are still in transition, rest assured that we are determined to get there!
